Frequently asked questions

Can you draw me up a design before I book to see whether I like it?

Short answer, no. I don't draw up designs prior to someone confirming their booking and paying a deposit, unless it is a flash design. I am very busy and priority is given to people who have committed to a booking.

Why don't you show your designs earlier than 1-2 days before the appointment?

You will find that a lot of tattoo artists don't show their designs prior to an appointment at all. Though I understand that it can be unsettling to not know what it might look like and so I send mine so you know what to expect. However, I won't send them through any earlier as there is a risk that a client could take my design somewhere else. Clients also want to share designs with friends and family, increasing the risk of it being passed around and stolen, and also multiple opinions that could ultimately make you second guess your design. Remember it is your tattoo and for you and no one else.

How long will my tattoo take?

This depends on the detail, size and placement of the design. You'll be provided with an approx timeframe but tattoos can and do run over time so allow a generous buffer if you have somewhere to be afterwards. If you have places to be after an appointment, please consider this when making a booking.

How should I pay for my tattoo?

Final payment for your tattoo can be made by bank transfer or cash.

Can I reschedule my appointment?

Please see policy page to see all rescheduling and cancellation policies.

Do you do cover ups?

This is subject to the tattoo that needs covering and what you'd like to cover it with. My work is fine line so sometimes it just doesn't work. Please send through a photo of the original tattoo when you are sending through your request and I can let you know whether it will work.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes you can! However, please only bring one person with you and not the whole crew. My studio is fairly small and I only have space for one person to sit while you are being tattooed.

Can I bring my children?

No children and babies allowed sorry! Kids are great, but kids and needles are not. They can also cause both you being tattooed and me tattooing you to become distracted which could impact on your design. Please leave the kiddies at home and have some time out for yourself:

When will I get to see my custom design?

You will be able to see the design 1-2 days before your appointment. If you want to make changes to the design, these can be specified in an email prior to the day of your appointment, but major changes or a full change of design will require a new appointment.

What if I don't like my design?

Although this rarely happens, it's understandable that a tattoo is permanent and you want it to be just right. If you're unhappy with your design due to miscommunication, then please let me know. We can discuss what needs to be changed and if needed, we can reschedule your appointment. To avoid this l ask that you provide as much detail as possible when sending through your booking request, alternatively, I am happy to organise a face to face consultation in order for us to discuss what you are wanting. If you have a change of heart and no longer want to go through with the original design please keep in mind that you will still need to cover the cost for the time that was taken to draw it.
